Easter is an important Christian festival, which is held to mark the resurrection of Jesus Christ, when He returned to life again after his crucifixion. Christians celebrate Easter every year in the spring, always on a Sunday between March and April.

Easter in the UK

It’s a national holiday and children do not go to school.

The eggs, chicks and hot cross buns are symbols of Easter.

People send greeting cards and give Easter eggs to family and friends.

Children in the UK say that the Easter Bunny brings eggs. Easter Bunny is a happy rabbit with a basket full of sweets and chocolate eggs.
On Easter morning, children play a special treasure hunt called "Treasure Hunt Eggs". Parents hide decorated eggs in their gardens and children must find them. The winner is the boy or girl who find the most eggs.
